meet coach mark

an avid and adept afficionado of racket sports

Mark is a certified tennis and pickleball coach living in Holland, Michigan with a passion for people and racket sports. He has been playing tennis for over 20 years. While at West Ottawa High School he was a Division 1 Conference and Regional champion and competed at the Michigan state finals. After graduating high school in 2009, Mark served in the United States Air Force.

During his time in the service Mark taught fellow service members how to play tennis, sparking his passion for teaching others. He also competed at a high level in table tennis and has won several tournaments throughout his life—while deployed in the Middle East, on cruise ships, as well as at the Holland Civic Center.

When he was introduced to pickleball in 2019, it was an immediate fit. He first discovered it when Hugh Davis, founder of Revolin Sports, invited Mark to play a pickleball tournament with him. He picked up the sport quickly and naturally due to his background in tennis and ping pong. Mark recently won the 2024 Tulip City Open for 4.5 Pickleball Men’s Doubles with fellow Revolin Sports ambassador, Aidan Fickel.

He has been coaching group and private lessons for over five years through Play Your Court and MVP Sports Club, and is certified by the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) and the Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR).
